A Quick Update . . .

I've been cleaning up some posts on this blog, for many reasons which are too personal to detail on a public blog.  I had one final post, but somehow deleted that, too!  I apologize for that.

I just wanted to say that I have read and do appreciate the short comments some of you have left on the last post, even after these few years have gone by.  Thank you so much!

I do not think that I will be returning to sewing some of the detailed creations that I used to for again, reasons that I do not want to detail publicly.  I still do sew, although not at much as the children are old enough not to need a new wardrobe every season.  I also do not work outside the home, hence my need for professional clothing is practically nil.  I still do special dresses for my daughter, and that is enough for me at the moment.

Will I return to blogging here?  I'm not sure.  I have a lot of traveling scheduled for 2015 which would make it impossible to keep up, and the blogging world has continued on without my content anyway.

Thanks for stopping by, and yes, I still read many of your blogs, if you have them!

Great to see a new post from you! A lot of the newer sewing blogs are big into Bras right now - I remember reading when you started hooks and wires and now people keep linking to your etsy shop. You were a great inspiration to me, I hope to see some project posts from you. Hope you are well!

It is so nice to see this update! I am so happy to hear you and your family are doing well. Yes. The blogging world has gone on, but I personally have never put your blog out of my mind. You are often in my thoughts. You were the very first sewing blog I ever read when I first discovered sewing blogs. If you do decide to blog in the future, I would be very content with an occasional post. It does have to be regular. I would also be content with just a picture of what you've made without going into the construction details. I always enjoyed your parting shots giving us a glimpse into the person behind the blog. I've enjoyed seeing your children grow and the little things you had going on as a family. It adds the personal touch. But if that is too personal and you don't want to do that anymore, I'm okay with that, too. I will keep you on my blog roll and Bloglovin in case you pop in now and then. Hope your holidays are wonderful!

I totally respect your decision. Thank you for posting a status update. I have enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your creative design process with your garments --thank you for sharing. When I saw one of your garments at a quilt show, I found it so enlightenng to know the process behind the completed outfit. I wish you and your family all the best. I hope that you are able to continue to sew and create wonderful things.

I have missed you, Summerset! Thank you for posting today. I do hope you and your loved ones are all well. You have been such an inspiration - as a sewist but as a fantastic mum as well. Your kids must be getting so big now. I have a little girl of my own now! It is so fun to knit and sew for her.
I do hope that things are good with you though it does sound that not everything has been smooth sailing. You are in my thoughts!
Isabelle.

It's nice to see you are around if maybe not as well as you'd like. I hope you do post every now and again as I too really enjoyed your sewing and travel posts. Thank you for the update tho.

Summerset! Thank you for the update. I always wonder what you're up to and hoping you're okay. The blogging world may have continued on without you, but you are deeply missed by more than one of us. Thank you for all the work and time you put into your blog over the years. It was a real gift.

I would like to add my enthusiastic endorsement and agreement with the previous commenters. I have *so* enjoyed your blog entries and the backstory of your garment creations.

I saw your white dress with red roses (American Beauty??) at Pacific International Quilt Festival one year and I so delighted to be able to tell my companion *in great detail* about how the garment was created. And it's because you took the time and effort to share all those details with us.

I do so understand how life circumstances can dramatically change our lives and how one may not want to share those details. I have never removed your feed from my blog roll for precisely this reason .. you might, at some point, decide to create a blog post. I sure wouldn't want to miss that!

I do hope that your family is well and that you continue to find personal expression of your incredible creativity. It's truly vital to our own well-being.

Do take care of yourself. And thank you so very much for the update. I often think of you when I see exquisitely made garments.

Thank you so much for this update, Summerset. You've have been in my thoughts often, particularly when I see detailed glorious garments on the runways. I know we all have a blogging friend who is totally capable of the same couture works of art. We've missed you but I wish you the best and respect your decisions. Life throws us many changes and we must adapt at these turns and I know you are guided by love of God and Family. Take care of yourself and please give a shout out now and then. We miss you!

It was a treat to see your post while reading today since I do miss your blog and insights into life in another part of the country. But yes, the blogging world goes on and develops in new ways. i've been having similar thoughts about whether to continue or not since my blogging production has slowed dramatically....and my blog reading has even become more selective. But thanks for the update. Even if your life is more casual, as mine definitely is, it would be nice just to see a pic or two of your projects. You have such an artist's eye for color and proportion that I have always been inspired by you.

It was so good to hear from you. We remember with much pleasure our meeting four years ago. If your travels bring you this side of the big pond it would be wonderful to see you again. I do understand about not needing to sew, I did very little when my children were teenagers, as yours now are. Indeed they must be getting very grown up. But the skills never leave one and special dresses are always so worthwhile. Every good wish to all the family

Summerset, it is good to hear from you. Your blog was one of my favorites I still keep it on my list on Bloglovin'. I know that life can change dramatically and I will still miss reading your posts. Do let us know how you are doing. While I am retired and have no need of a professional wardrobe I still sew casual clothes for myself and some for family and friends so your input on that occasionally would be interesting. Thanks for your post and let us know how you are from time to time. Take care of yourself.

My heart smiled to see a post from Summerset in the feeder.

I know life is an adventure and seasons change...but you are missed. Not just because you made drop dead gorgeous stuff, but because you were a sister in many ways.

Anytime you want to drop by and leave a few lines, just to keep in touch, your blogging buddies will be glad to hear from you.

I was just thinking of you the other day - how strange that you should update at the same time. I'm glad you are well; I have missed seeing your creations and "parting shots" but understand the need to focus on other things, too. Be happy, healthy, and loved!

I'm another who misses your blog, but I'm glad to hear from you. I always enjoyed your posts on replicating an inspiration piece from Anthopologie or other stores. And I liked your posts on sewing up vintage fabrics, too. Wishing you the best, whatever direction your life is taking you.

I'm just glad to hear from you. To paraphrase Cidell, just because the blogging world has moved on, doesn't mean that you weren't missed. I wish you the best of luck whatever you do and where ever you go. I'm keeping you in my bloglines... and in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad too to see a post. You certainly belong to my blogging world and I missed seeing your posts, wondered what you are working on and hoped you were ok. yes, life gets in the way sometimes of blogging or it just isn't a priority. Do what you feel is good for you and your loved ones.
Warm wishes. Sigrid

I put on a skirt the other day that had an inseam pocket next to the invisible zipper and thought of you. Thank you for that wonderful tutorial and all the other beautiful posts that inspired me to become a better sewer. My very best wishes to you and your family.

I haven't forgotten; your blog is still in my feedly feed. I still use your tutorials. My daughter is a few years younger than yours and, as I sew for her, I wonder how your family are doing.

I do appreciate your generosity in sharing your knowledge and creativity to help others. I hope you continue blogging, even sporadically.

A breath of fresh air has swooped in - so wonderful to hear from you. I was very excited to find a lady I attend Bible study with here in FL, Jackie, is from your area. A small world. My flute playing daughter has now graduated college - I think of your flute player also. Nothing stays the same - but know you are thought of often.
Blessings.
