The Striped Top - Part Three

Done!

Finishing the top was pretty easy and quick.  I did baste and check the position of the waist twist before serging everything together.  That may seem like a such a simple thing and really it is, but it can save you a lot of headache and trouble by being able to do a quick check before making those seams permanent.  When you're combining patterns or working with some self-drafted pieces, a little basting can go a long way in helping to figure out if what you made is what you intended to make!

I'm happy with it, and it was certainly less expensive than the original top!  Since it is short-sleeved, it will have to wait until spring, but it will be nice to have something "new" waiting to wear.

Parting Shot:  Can't See Out.  Between the snowstorms and the snowblowing, the snow in the front yard is so high we can't see out one of our lower level windows.  Normally, we can see the street and the driveway easily, but not now.

The top looks great on you. Very flattering.

Sorry for all your snow. We had a lot last year and I am grateful we have passed by most of it this year!

Great knock-off. So cute!

Gorgeous! Yours is even better than the inspiration. I know this much snow is not fun to live with but it sure is beautiful.

Summerset...this top totally ROCKS!

Nice job on the top! As for snow, here (east slopes of the Washington Cascades) it is a two-edged sword--too much and we have spring flooding, not enough and we have summer drought.

Love the top. High Va-Va-Voom factor combined with low Hoochie-Coochie factor = winner!

That's a bit of snow you've got. At least this is after digging out, not before.

I love the top it looks so nice on you. I'm wondering if you find the ties/whatever slimming across the tummy?

You did a wonderful job with the top. I hear you with the basting- less heartache of it does not work out.
I would swim in that snow at the moment- we are having a heatwave in Sydney.
