School Wardrobe - Burda 5/10 #128

She Likes It!

I decided to go ahead and finish up the blouse yesterday - by the end of the day it only needed the buttons/buttonholes, so I took a little time yesterday evening to finish it.  I still was not convinced that she liked it, but at the very least the Goodwill would have a completed blouse.

When I got to see her today, I asked her about the blouse.   She said she had seen it and liked it.  We then tried it on and she still liked it.  I was afraid the sleeves would be too puffy, be she was ok with them.

I was pleased with where the waist ended up - we lengthened it 1" and it was just perfect.  If you're going to make this one, think about where you want that waist seam to end up.

We'll see how much she wears it!  Next up:  her annual birthday dress.

Parting Shot:  Mt. Willey.  My son and I hiked Mt. Willey this morning.  It was a perfect day for hiking, a little cool, but sunny.  While the true summit wasn't all that exciting (where I'm sitting, below), the views near the summit were great and we had a great hike.

That's a lovely blouse (and lovely kid). The sleeves are so sculptural!

I need to get started on my daughter's school wardrobe. We picked some fabric and patterns and the pile is still sitting there. Why don't elves come and cut/sew while I sleep?

It's a great blouse. I like that style a lot. I was actually doing some garment sewing this weekend! Anne came over and I made a dress muslin for her to fit a new pattern. Then I cut out the dress for her while she sewed a skirt. It made me think about sewing garments again!
