Birthday Dress #12!

Finished!

I've finished the birthday dress and we even went shopping for accessories today!

We didn't find a belt that was quite right, so we decided to go with a ribbon at the waist instead.   After looking at the selection available and talking over color and style options, she choose a wide black velvet ribbon.  I love this choice as it gives a little bit of rich texture to the whole dress without being too heavy or overwhelming.

She decided on the necklace below after trying on many styles.  There were a lot that looked nice, but were not right for the dress or for her taste.  We also bought some simple pearl earrings and black suede flats to finish the outfit.

I will post a picture of her actually wearing it tomorrow - there's not enough time today as she wants outdoor pictures, the light isn't good today and I have a client arriving in 20 minutes.

Parting Shot:  Tomatoes!  My son's garden is finally producing things to eat, some of the first being the tomatoes.  There are more to come, too!

Summerset - you are my productivity inspiration, I can't believe how much you get done. I love the placement of the flower at the center of the bodice - very pretty! Great dress! Happy birthday to your daughter.

This is the most stunning dress you have made for your daughter. The colors are brilliant. The necklace and wide velvet ribbon is a perfect choice.

What a beautiful dress. She's growing up so fast!

Congrats to your son on those tomatoes, they look delicious. I am going to try my hand at a couple of vegetables next year. It's impossible to buy any decent tomatoes anymore.

There is nothing more beautiful than a fresh off the vine tomato sitting on the windowsill. The dress is beautifully stylized.
