30 Minutes Per Day

Burda 4/09 #101 - Red Pique Skirt

I did finish the skirt yesterday, although I did take a little longer than 30  minutes to do so. I was so close to finishing that I decided to just get it done.  Here's how I wore it to school today:

Not terribly exciting, but works well with a white blouse, black shoes and black and white jewelry.

I made this pretty much as the pattern indicated except that I made the facings as wide as the inset panel at center front, rather than narrower as drafted.  Oh, and those alterations, too, but that wasn't necessarily a style change!

Today I was *supposed* to cut out the yellow and white striped vintage blouse.  I got as far as ironing the pieces and discovered one was missing.  Sigh.  I'll tell you about that tomorrow.

Parting Shot: Hanging Out.  Wellie doesn't often sit with someone or just hang out like this.  He's not a lap cat, so in a rare moment of him actually sitting near my husband, I had to take a picture.

THis is a really pretty skirt. I made a red skirt recently and I am surprised by how much wear it gets and how many things go with it.

Love this red skirt. It is very flattering and makes a great hourglass with your crisp white blouse. Nice shoes, too!

What a pretty skirt for spring! Great color. It'd look yummy with a camel or tan cardigan, too... I love camel and red together...

Pretty skirt. I've always had cats that were too much lap cats. I couldn't sit down without a cat cuddling up on my lap. As nice as that was, it can get a little annoying too.
