The Great Vintage Shirt Project - Simplicity 2195

A Little Progress!

We now at least have a finished monogram:

We also have a finished body:

The collar and facing are a little different. First there is a collar and collar stand unit attached to the shirt, right sides together.

Then there is a collar facing and front facing unit which is made of three pieces and interfaced. It is then attached along the entire front edge and collar.

I still need to attach the collar/front facing unit and cuffs, then add buttons and buttonholes and a hem. I think tomorrow I will be able to get it finished and show you the finished shirt on Monday.

Parting Shot: The Bus. This is my son's Awana Grand Prix race vehicle. The object is to make a vehicle weighing no more than 5 oz. that will go down an inclined raceway the fastest. He decided to make his block of wood into a bus this year. He placed in the top 15 of 60 vehicles so that wasn't too bad for his first year.

I like this blouse very much. I was unsure about the monogram, but it looks really lovely.
