It occurred to me that I had not shown this gift project that I couldn't show during the holiday sewing season because my husbands reads (and sometimes comments on) this blog. I've already made him one of these before, but this one is black with a blue zip and inside neck binding for fun. I wanted to use a red or yellow zip, but didn't have and couldn't find either color locally (no surprise there).
As a bonus, I was also able to use some of the leftover fleece and some other fleece I had in my collection to make a quick winter hiking hat. This hat is based on a hat my husband owns that I really like the design of for keeping the head and ears warm:
That's it for the catch-up posts, tomorrow I'll introduce the Great Vintage Shirt Project.Parting Shot: Flames. My son got a flame shirt, belt and shoes for Christmas and he was thrilled! He was so excited to finally get the Converse shoes he'd been wanting for a long time, plus a few extra flame things. Here he trying to show off all the flames:

Nice fleece shirt, the hat looks nice and warm - and your husband is a riot. Especially liked the melon color with his shirt from the other day.
Looking forward to seeing your vintage shirt post. Do you have all the patterns, or will you be looking for some more? ;-)
Oh, and I thought your suit turned out beautifully!

The picture says it all: he's very happy with the flames.
I really like that hat. I bet it is toasty warm. I too am looking forward to the Vintage Shirt Project.
I like the hat. My ears always get cold! I think I could use one for high school football season. The pullover is very nice.
Your son looks very happy!!!
Happy New Year.
Can't wait to see the Great Vintage shirt project. By the way, I enjoy it when your hubby pops in with a few words. Always pithy!
Nice fleece! And yes, your son looks like he's enjoying his new stuff...
