Ants!
I finally got the ants done! The reason it took me so long was because I wasn't sure about their legs. I wasn't happy with any beaded options, so I stitched all the other insects to the jacket while thinking about (avoiding) the ant legs. Since I stitched the last two crickets on Tuesday night, I faced the ant legs Wednesday morning, and after studying pictures of real ants, I decided to embroider the legs and antennae.
This picture shows the other group of ants with a little more of the border for context:
I'm happy with them, and I only need to make three more bees to be done with the insects. At this point it is not much longer to the finish! Just a few more days!Parting Shot: Cat Hotel. Today I found two cats in the fabric in my closet. I think I need some major cleaning and organization once I get GP done!

The ants are perfect, and you found just the spot for them!
El
Did they get in the closet before Wellie arrived? It seems like he has become the leader of the group and creates trouble for everyone!
Cool ants! Can't wait to see it all together!
I love the ants! They add a touch of humor.
I think the cats are enabling each other. Cute as ever!
The ants are so realistic looking. I like the placement.
The cats are like toddlers, making messes where ever they go. Reminds me of my little guy, 18 months old.
The ants look so realistic. You might have people trying to brush them off!
I LOVE the ants!!!!
Wow Summerset, I love your creativity and I love the ants. Not only the ants, the entire Garden Path is amazing.
I love the humorous touch of this project.
Totally awesome work!
I can't have enough
The cats look very comfortable in the fabric. Maybe you shouldn't clean and organize your stash!
I love your ants! They are very convincing. Very cute, too.
The kitties look quite comfy in there! I need to be really careful with my fabric drawers, too - if I leave them open by so much 3 inches, P'tite Mignonne is quick to spot the opportunity :)
My cats used to nest in my linen closet. Even if I don't always comment, I'm always checking in on your progress with this lovely project. Smashing!
