Bluebird of Happiness - Accessories - Part II

Jewelry and a Shoe Issue

You know I'm really, really, really close to being done when I'm working on jewelry! I made this necklace today in between coaching speech for a competition and picking my children from school:

I was fortunate enough to find Swarovski crystals that were a pretty close match to the rhinestones in the vintage 50's earrings that I purchased last summer for this ensemble.

The shoes have an issue. It seems that there is a prong of some kind in the heel. You can't see it when you look in the shoe.

When you put it on, you can feel it and underneath the footbed liner, there is the prong:

I've got some other shoes for the photoshoot that are not vintage, but will work. I've got my eye on some different vintage shoes on eBay anyway.

Tomorrow: the photo shoot post.
Parting Shot: Bunny Suit. My children's school is putting on a few short musical plays this spring. My son's age group is doing one about Peter Rabbit. My son has been chosen for the role of Peter Rabbit. Guess who gets to make the rabbit costumes? Oh yes, that would be me. I get to do five rabbits total: Mother, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter. Should be interesting.

Summerset - I have been following the BOH with complete awe! You are truly talented and have opened my eyes to vintage patterns and beautiful embellishments. Could you stop making it look so darn easy?! You will have a fabulous work of art when it is all done!

Couldn't you hammer the prong flat or push the prong flat. It would seem to be fairly simple. Or a shoe repairman could easily fix that for you. I think they're just the right look.

The amount of work you have put into this is incredible. We're all anxious to see the final result. Also, I agree that you can take that shoe to a shoe repair and get it fixed. That is, if you really like the shoes, otherwise, you may want an excuse to get some different ones!

I am really looking forward to the photo shoot of BOH! The jewelry is a great match.

Bunny costumes - now that will be something very different to do! I don't envy you that task!

I bet the first bunny costume will be fun, the next will be less so ;) and I'm so totally looking forward to see your son in one of the costumes!

I didn't know whether to laugh or race screaming as I disappeared over the horizon...I made this pattern as a long-distance order. The mama (and son) lived in Pennsylvania and I lived in West Virginia. It was an easy pattern "after" I trimmed away the seam allowances from every possible area. It turned out very well. Thanks for the memory...Nehmah
