Garment #8 - The White Blouse
Here's the white blouse that satisfies two of the SWAP rules. First, it is made from fabric purchased from Timmel Fabrics as part of the $25 qualifying purchase. Second, it is the second piece made from the vintage wardrobe pattern. It is shown over a white camisole, but my son said it would look good over a red one too. I can also chose to belt it or not. The blouse and pattern work together because there are few seams to have to work around with the holes. I chose to make the collar and cuffs solid to have stronger edges. Those edges will see the most wear and tear of the blouse, plus it helps to visually finish off the blouse. The blouse is kimono style, with the sleeves cut in one with the body.
I also eliminated the center back seam to avoid having to match the square like I did for the center front seam.
The facings were cut carefully so that the holes of the front and facing would match up:
This was a very easy, yet versatile blouse to make, plus it is a nice little update to the classic white blouse.Only three more garments to go: the knit top, the black trousers and the shorts! Next week: the white and red knit wrap top.
Parting Shot: Paducah, KY. I'm a finalist in this year's American Quilt Society contest with Midnight Garden. I'll be in Paducah, KY in April to model the garment in person at the fashion show (see "Now Showing" in the side bar on the right). It is a lot of fun, and if you're going to be there, let me know!

Cute top. I got some of that fabric too, but I'm not sure what to make out of it yet. I like the tunic idea!

Cute top. And I continue to be amazed by your son. That would have been the day that my son would have given me fashion advice when he was 6 - not that he doesn't like clothes today.
