The Bodice
Well, here it is, from the front and from the side, showing the wrap around of the pleats. You'll have to excuse all the pins; I'm not tacking down the pleats until I'm happy with their position. Which, of course I'm not, and will monkey around with them tonight to get them where I want them. At this point, the underlining (with all the boning and cups) is basted to the fashion fabric layer at the top, including the stay tape.

Here's what the front piece looks like before the pleats are put in:
The original pattern has the top of the front piece from center front all the way around folded down towards the inside, but said nothing about finishing it. I made another front in lining fabric, stitched them right sides together, clipped at center front and turned to the inside and stay stitched. I'll probably rip out the machine stay stitching and prick stitch it later, but for right now it's fine as is.The lining is completed for the bodice, both the skirt and skirt lining are completed, as is the sash. Now, if I could get the whole thing together and get the bead work done, I think we'd be almost done except for the jacket closures! If I can get the pleats where I want them tonight, I think I'll join the bodice and skirt and put the zipper in tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll have a whole dress to show you tomorrow!
Parting Shot: Whenever I change the sheets, the cats feel they need to "help" me put the sheets/blankets/duvets back on the beds by holding things down (they are worse than children, sometimes!). Sometimes I just make the bed with the cats where every they happen to be, leaving behind a lump. Max obviously liked the warm from the dryer blanket because he didn't stir when I had to go down stairs to find the camera:

Our big, orange and white kitty, Simon Templar Wheelwell, and our tri-coloure Sheltie, Duncan, love to help with the "laurdries". They hold down everything while we strip the bed, and Simon bites all those pesky wrinkles. Then the have to help with the sheets and blanket. Our sheets are almost never nice, tight and smooth...lumpy though.
Diamonds is taking shape quite nicely. I am looking forward to seeing it.
Ghost always attacks the sheets when I put them on the bed. I over make the bed on top of her, too.
Diamonds is really coming along!
Ohhh, it's coming along beautifully! I love that shade of blue! I think I can picture it with the fur jacket on! What a vision!
Your dress looks gorgeous!
Funny about your cats - my 65 pound golden retriever/poodle mix likes to do the same thing. When I make the bed with her underneath, she leaves behind quite a large lump!
